    About Paul Gold

    Paul Gold has lived in Tucson, Arizona, for nearly fifty years. His first book, Bend in the Wash, (January 2021), is a journey into the alternative lifestyles of the residents of Rancho Linda Vista, an artist community in Oracle, Arizona. While pursuing an art degree at the University of Arizona (BFA 1983), Gold was a student of one of the principal figures in this book, art professor Bruce McGrew.

    Gold is well versed in the history of southern Arizona art and artists and is an active member of the Tucson Museum of Art, the University of Arizona Museum of Art, The Drawing Studio, and the Phoenix Art Museum. Panelist pick, Pima County Public Library Southwest Books of the Year, 2022.

    Michael Moore: Drawings (July 2022) is Gold’s second book, coauthored with charcoal landscape artist Michael Moore. This book is the first in a series of southern Arizona artist catalogs (PMG Artist Catalog Series). Finalist, Pima County Public Library Southwest Books of the Year, 2023.

    Bruce McGrew: Continuum (October 2023) is Gold’s latest publication, a catalog of over 100 selected works by the iconic painter and teacher.
